STUDENT MEETING ACTIVITIES

The student design competition this year has an exciting new topic, stream restoration! Teams of students have the opportunity to conceptualize the design problem put before them at their respective institutions. Then, students travel to the conference with their ideas and complete the design with materials provided here at Virginia Tech. Teams will have until Thursday afternoon to craft their design. Conference attendees will have to opportunity to view each design being put to the test. Judges will score designs and short reports based on the success outlined in the design description. A winning team will be designated on the last day of the meeting and awarded the coveted microcosm.

Other student activities throughout the meeting include networking socials, vendor and sponsor exhibits, and career and resume boards. In addition, conference luncheons present a good opportunity for communicating with professionals in the academic, agency, and consulting arenas.
