My name is Candice Piercy and I am direct PhD student in the Biological Systems Engineering department at Virginia Tech. I am a part of the Stream and Wetlands Ecological Engineering Team at Virginia Tech (2SWEET). I am conducting research on how wetland vegetation affects wetland hydraulics. I plan to complete my dissertation in May of 2008. I am also involved in two other projects: predicting root density in streambanks and evaluating stream classification in the mid-Atlantic US. I am also interested in teaching. I am currently a graduate teaching assistant for Dr. Tess Wynn. I taught three weeks of BSE 3305 Land and Water Resources Engineering in Fall, 2006.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking, running, mountain biking, and playing with my dog, Buckley. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. You can find my contact information as well as links to 2SWEET, Virginia Tech, and the BSE department.
